Matanzas, Vigía and Aldabón, the western part of the country, are finalizing preparations for the 31st International Book Fair (FIL) in Cuba, which will be held from 9 to 19 February.
According to the director of the Provincial Center for Books and Literature in Matanzas. Efrahim Pérez, representatives of three publishing houses, are working together to design a fair that will represent the province at the event, which will take place in the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress in the Cuban capital.
According to him, the collection of titles published in previous issues of FIL and the selection of new proposals attract the attention of authors in order to correspond with the theme of the struggle conceived in relation to inclusive literature.
Perez commented that among the projects that will be presented at FIL are the content of digitized and printed books, audiobooks, brochures, magazines and even some media and social networks as an expression of diversity and commitment to the management of new information technologies.
Regarding the arrival of the book festival in Matanzas, the creator commented that the event will take place from 2 to 5 March on Narváez Street as the main venue, and bookstores and institutions will be set up for this function on the Medio and other central points of the city. provincial capital.
The possibility of placing the FIL in famous places in Matanzas, such as the headquarters of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Provincial Historical Archive, the House of Scenic Memory, the Office of the City Curator and others, will allow this area to be filled with literature.
According to the President of the Provincial Literary Commission, the publishers of Matanzas will dedicate this edition of the great event in the territory of the National Publishing Prize to the promoter and writer Alfredo Saldívar in recognition of a life dedicated to literature.
