TV program made in Cuba-China.

The directors of China Media Group (CMG) and Cuban Television presented last Friday the television space ConTextos dedicated to information about the Asian nation.

According to Prensa Latina, Zhang Busin, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Havana, stressed that the program, co-produced by China Global Television Network (CGTN in Spanish) and Canal Caribe, is a new milestone in cooperation between the two countries. . . .

He added that television production demonstrates mutual trust and desire to develop bilateral relations and is a window for mutual understanding between the two peoples.

What CMG Latin America CEO Zhu Boing meant was that in the face of the international media landscape and manipulation, our media must have more diverse, fair, impartial and rational voices.

He especially noted the cooperation between the two countries and how the current issues of the two countries were reflected in the mutual information space.

Similarly, Zhang Busin reaffirmed his willingness to promote various exchange initiatives between Cuban and Chinese media and praised ConTextos as the first joint program, which he described as a new way to successfully cooperate with the media.

The first vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, Waldo Ramirez, called the historical ties between the two countries an example of mutual respect between peoples, a heritage that future generations should preserve.

He emphasized the political coincidences regarding the fight against unilateral sanctions, for peace and multilateralism.

Meanwhile, Canal Caribe Director Adrian Fonseca thanked everyone in attendance and the team that created the space, and noted that I am honored to contribute to familiarizing myself with the reality of China and to help strengthen common ties.

Aired in test mode from July 6, 2022, ConTextos lasts 30 minutes and includes news, analysis of Chinese commentators and interviews with international experts to delve into various topics in order to tell the Cuban public the truth from this country.

The space is set to broadcast every Wednesday at 21:30 local time on Canal Caribe, with a rebroadcast on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons; but its content is also broadcast by CCTV+’s AMSP Multimedia Services Platform, which provides video news, live broadcasts, and personalized columns produced by CMG and CGTN.
