Lawyer Tanya Delgado Fernandez is today the new director of the International New Latin American Film Festival, which Cuba has organized since 1979 and is considered one of the most famous in the region.

According to the Festival House, based in the capital, the official has been involved in the promotion of Cuban cinema since 2002 and has worked in international relations as vice president of the Cuban Institute of Cinematic Art and Industry.

He was also part of the team that prepared the update of the Cuban audiovisual production standards included in Decree 373 of the Independent Producers of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Materials.

As part of his curriculum of these years, his constant association with the Festival appears, as part of the industry sector and in meetings with film authorities and educational institutions.

She has a degree in Law and has been a career path professor at the University of Havana and at the Faculty of Audiovisual Communication Arts (FAMCA) of the University of the Arts (ISA), institutions with which she collaborates on courses and masters. .

Delgado Fernandez is the first woman to take charge of the biggest film event in Cuba and since joining the team she has joined in the concept and organization of its 44th edition which will take place in Havana from 8 to 17 December 2023. the note.

The Havana Festival maintains its premises around the dissemination of cinema, which contributes to enriching and reaffirming the cultural identity of Latin America and the Caribbean.
