Thomas Bach, German head of the IOC, and Chilean Neven Ilich, leader of Panam Sports, will arrive at noon today, then they will meet with Roberto Leon Richards, a former gymnast who heads the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC), and Mihain Lopez. , four-time Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and head of the KOC Athletes’ Commission, as well as with the KOC Executive Committee.
Bach, a former Olympic fencing champion in Montreal in 1976, will open a basketball court in the Sports City today and a track in the Pan American Stadium tomorrow.
Among other topics, the delegation will be interested in the promotion of the Cuban sports movement to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
