This Thursday, the traditional Cycling Cup started on March 8, which was attended by the best Cuban riders at the moment. The race, which will end next Sunday, is timed to coincide with International Women’s Day.

According to colleague Lisset Ricardo of the Jit newspaper, participants in the national prelims, which are gearing up to secure a place in the continental road and track racing championships, in April and June, respectively, both qualifications presented themselves at the starting line for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

They will also go looking for a place among the riders who will represent the country in 5th place. Alba Games scheduled for April; as well as the Central Caribbean Multisport Party in San Salvador this year.

Paracyclists and martial artists of Peña La Guayaba were included in the competition with a stage on the roads of the municipality of Havana in East Havana, who celebrate their races on this track every Saturday.

The March 8 Cup began with a 120km journey from the Reinaldo Paceiro Velodrome, passing through Monumental Road, 100th Street, the ExpoCube quad circuit and back to the finish line in front of the Pan American Stadium.

This Friday, the second stage will be 140 kilometers long, starting and finishing in the same place, although it includes the route through the Monumental, the highway to the Melena del Sur junction and the Enrique Borbonet shooting range area.

The third arm includes a 100 km track with a main stage on the famous La Guayaba circuit, adding the Monumental, the first ring road and the national highway.

The last organized route will start and end in front of a 12-storey building in the Bahia district, also located in the east of the capital, and its route will pass along the Tres Picos hill, Monumental and the intersection of Via Blanca and the roundabout for a total of 60 kilometers.
