While Major League Basketball (LSB) men’s tournament teams are just two sub-series away from the end of the regular phase, the women’s competition determined its finalists this Monday after two semi-final bouts ended in four games (3-1).
Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo, the teams that won tickets to the title challenge, were lucky enough to celebrate their respective classifications on their respective courts. At the same time, yesterday, the Santiago team, under the leadership of Abelis Robert, scored their third victory over the representative of the Capitalinas, dominating in all quarters, with a score of 86-57 (19-8, 28-19, 20-13, 19-17), in a multi-purpose hall Alejandro Urguelles.
For their part, the Guantanamo team, after losing by two points on Sunday against the Sirens of Ciego de Ávila, recovered the next day and established their favorite status at the polyvalent Rafael Castiello Stadium with a score of 65–56. Although the fight ended with a difference of nine points, it is fair to say that after the end of the first half, the Eastern players had only one point (36-35).
Following these results, Mambisa from Santiago and from the land of Guazo will meet in the final for the second year in a row.
