The flag presentation ceremony was held at the Cerro Pelado High Performance Athlete Training School and was attended by most of the members of the team that will represent the island in a multi-sport event, which is undoubtedly an opportunity, especially for the development and preparation of younger figures.
Flag-bearers Marin and Napoles were accompanied by Elisbeth Gamez Matos, a swimmer, and weightlifter Olfides Saes, two of the main favorites to bring medals to the Antillean delegation.
The event, in addition to the usual obligations of athletes and coaches, included political and cultural moments, such as the performance of the Entrevoces choir led by teacher Digna Guerra and the recitation of the actor Jorge Ryan, as well as the presentation by the Union of Young Communists of several athletes who will participate in the Games.
The event was also attended by Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of Inder, and Roberto Leon Richards, head of the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC), as well as other political and sports authorities of our country.
