Cuba will not participate in the 2024 Caribbean Baseball Series

Local media reported today that Cuba’s participation in the 2024 Caribbean Baseball Series has been ruled out.

According to the portal Jit, a representative of the Cuban Institute of Sports stressed that Cuba is not among the candidates for participation in this regional tournament.

A full source told ESPN Digital that Colombia, Panama, a North American entity, and another Asian entity are among the contenders (to fill the quota). The same source warned that Cuba was not among the applicants, the note emphasizes.

Thus, Cuba, the founder of this struggle back in 1949, after participating in this year’s edition in Caracas, again remains on the sidelines.

The 2024 Miami Baseball Caribbean Series is scheduled to take place at Loan Depot Park from February 2-10.

According to the organizers, the final decision on six or eight teams will be known within 30-45 days.
