Passers-by took to the streets on Saturday for Cuban-Russian friendship

Next Saturday, the streets of Havana will host the 7th Cuba-Russia Friendship Race, timed to coincide with the 78th anniversary of the victory over fascism and the end of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The circuit of the route will be 3.7 km long and will start and end at the embassy of the Eurasian state on the island.

“This race will be dedicated to all those who did everything possible to rid the world of Nazism and fascism and where more than 27 million people died in the Soviet Union,” said Sergei Oboznov, an adviser to the Russian Embassy in Cuba. at yesterday’s press conference.

The race will begin at 9:00 AM at the enclave located at 66 Fifth Avenue and registration will begin at 7:00 AM the same day. The participation of children, adolescents, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, students from the Russian School in Havana, Russians living on the island and their families, as well as members of the diplomatic corps, reports the Prensa Latina news agency.

The winners will receive prizes consisting of diplomas, a sweater, a cap, an allegorical jug and other items that were sent by the Russian government through the Maraban-Marakub National Running and Walking Commission.
