Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca arrived in India today from Qatar, leading a delegation from the island with representatives from agriculture, renewable energy and the biopharmaceutical sector.

This was reported by Prensa Latina (PL), specifying that on the first day of its stay in the South Asian country, Malmierca will hold a meeting in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, the fourth most populous Indian city. and the center of the national high-tech industry.

This Friday, the work program of the Cuban representation includes a visit to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the State of Karnataka, participation in a forum on business opportunities with the largest Antilles.

PL reports that a trip to the Manyata International Technopark in Bangalore is scheduled for Saturday.

In Doha, Qatar, Malmierca participated in the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries and had an exchange of views with the authorities of this Arab country, foreign delegations and medical workers from the Antilles country who provide services there.

Speaking at the general debate and ministerial meeting, and on behalf of the G77 plus China (G77 + China), of which Cuba is temporarily chairing this year, the minister reaffirmed the importance of international assistance to the poorest countries facing their deepest crises.
