The diplomat stressed that this is the largest delegation from his country that arrived in the Caribbean country in terms of the number of political leaders, parliamentarians, businessmen and representatives of friendship associations.

This, he stressed, “is an expression of the exemplary relations between Vietnam and Cuba, bequeathed to us by the highest leaders of both countries: Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh,” Thanh Tung stressed.

Secretary of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) of Cuba Homero Acosta paid a working visit to Vietnam in November last year, which, in addition to Hanoi, included the provinces of Da Nang, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City.

It was also a convenient occasion to convey greetings to the head of the Legislative Assembly of Vietnam from his Cuban counterpart, Esteban Lazo, and repeat his invitation to visit the island in the near future.

On the other hand, at the end of March last year, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Vietnamese Parliament, Le Tu Ha, visited Argentina to strengthen bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest and prepare an agenda ahead of Ding Hue’s visit.

At a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Vietnam, Maria Rosa Martinez, the two leaders agreed to emphasize that over 50 years of diplomatic relations, both countries have reached an exceptional level of mutual understanding and cooperation.

Tu Hay and Martinez also praised the intensity of economic ties and the active participation of both countries in the multilateral arena and discussed agreements under negotiation to be signed on the occasion of the official trip.
