The government insisted on its interest in resuming dialogue with public figures, but calling on them to agree to turn the page on a reform that raises the retirement age from 62 to 64.
In April, Bourne embraced the union as a movement that then signaled that it would not give up on the fight against the norm finally unveiled by President Emmanuel Macron three weeks ago.
The meeting fell through and the unions later declined Macron’s invitation to discuss other issues, including employment.
In addition to the CGT, the French Democratic Confederation of Labor (CFDT) and the French Confederation of Christian Workers (CFTC) have already announced their participation in the negotiations with Born.
The decision of the trade unions Fuerza Obrera (FO) and the French Confederation of Governors – General Confederation of Governors (CFE-CGC) has yet to be heard.
The union organized the thirteenth national day of protests against pension reform on May 1 and has already announced that it will hold the fourteenth on June 6.
Like the trade unions, most opposition parties reject the norm and the way it is adopted without a vote of the National Assembly under the protection of Article 49.3 of the Constitution.
