Cuba and Russia stake on strengthening cooperation ties

With the aim of celebrating today the 63rd anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Russia, both countries are committed to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between their peoples.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs via Twitter recalled the date and confirmed the island’s interest in continuing the sovereign development path.

Last week, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Sergeevich Oreshkin visited the island along with representatives of various companies interested in investing in mining, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, energy and other sectors of the economy. .

The guest met with Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, where they confirmed the intention of both countries to strengthen economic, trade and financial ties.

The visit marked the intention to trace, the continuity, all the agreements that we have jointly established, and is another expression of the deepening of bilateral relations between our governments and our peoples, which are historical relations and are characterized by a high level of political dialogue, said Diaz-Canel.

As part of his stay on the island, the adviser to the President of Russia signed a memorandum of understanding on the Bilateral Investment Initiative, which included business projects agreed with the Russian side.
