Venezuela rejects US report on religious freedom

CARACAS, 16 May. — The Venezuelan government has rejected a report on religious freedom in the United States and condemned that today it continues to assume powers that have not been granted to it by multilateral mechanisms or other sovereign states.

On his Twitter account, Foreign Minister Ivan Gil stated that the Bolivarian Republic “is an example of tolerance and the harmonious coexistence of cultures and religions.”

The head of the Venezuelan diplomacy assured that no tendentious message can erase the commitment of the government of President Nicolás Maduro in favor of various religious expressions that “coexist peacefully on our territory.”
