Meeting of the joint session of Cuba and the European Union (+Photo)

In a constructive atmosphere, in the interests of strengthening bilateral relations, the third meeting of the Joint Council of the European Union (EU) and Cuba was held in this capital.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas; and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security and Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell.

Welcoming the Chancellor of the European Union and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Havana, Cabrisas stressed the interest in promoting the implementation of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation between the parties.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Antilles welcomed the Swedish delegation in charge of the rotating presidency of the EU and wished success to Spain, which will take over the leadership of the 27-country community bloc on 1 July.

Meanwhile, the head of European diplomacy highly appreciated the atmosphere of frankness and constructive will, in which the dialogues of the third Joint Council, which closes this cycle of negotiations on the course of the ADPC, are being resumed.
