The Turkish people and government are in full solidarity with Cuba.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez this Wednesday afternoon went to the Turkish Embassy in Havana, where he signed the book of condolences opened in honor of the victims of the earthquake. .

“On behalf of the Cuban people and government, I express my sincere condolences to the people and government of Turkey, and we express to their families and relatives of the victims of the strong earthquake that affected the country and caused loss of life, injuries and property damage.

“At this particularly difficult moment, the Turkish people and their authorities can count on the full solidarity of Cuba,” the head of state wrote in an interview with the Ambassador of this country, His Excellency Mr. Vehbi Esgel Etensel and other members of that mission.

Diaz-Canel sent a greeting of support to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in these difficult times that his country is going through and asked the diplomats about the situation in the regions affected by the earthquake.

The President of Cuba was accompanied by Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, Vice Minister; and Gisela Garcia Rivera, Director for Europe and Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
