The Havana Triathlon will see the light of day again on February 26th after several years of absence. The main event of the discipline on the island in its seventh edition provides for the celebration of the Ibero-American middle distance championship, the popular middle distance sprint and triathlon, as well as the Pan American Cup.
Ahead of the traditional tournament this Thursday, it was revealed that four Cubans will take part two days before the Havana Fair in the 2023 Bahía de Amatique Triathlon Regional Development Cup in Guatemala.
Niuska Figueredo, Isabel Rodriguez, Kevin Milian and Jorge Emanuel Alemañez, under the command of coach Carlos Rafael Rodriguez, are called to compete in the Guatemalan competition, according to Jit in its web edition.
Figueredo is the most experienced athlete on the team, having competed in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
While the Antilles triathlon has three tickets to the San Salvador 2023 Central Caribbean Games due to the boys’ rankings, this type of competition keeps them active in the face of this regional multi-sport struggle.
