This Saturday, eight Cuban fields hosted the first date of the opening tournament of the National Football League in its 106th edition, where there was no shortage of goals or interesting results.
Perhaps the most anticipated match of the day was the Group B match between Santiago de Cuba and Camagüey at Amador Fernandez in the country of the Tinajones. However, the duel between Diablos Rojos and Miuras ended goalless, and both took a single point, which is not to their liking.
There were victories in other Oriente clashes as well, with Granma and Holguín beating Sancti Spiritus and Las Tunas by a narrow margin, while Guantanamo thrashed Ciego de Ávila (3-0) to become the interim leader of the table in that zone.
On this side of the country, three out of four fights ended 2-0 in favor of Havana, Cienfuegos and Artemis. The Capital Lions defeated Mayabeque, the Sailors defeated Villa Clara and the Gladiators defeated the Isla de la Juventud squad.
To conclude on the campus of the Nancy Uranga University in Pinar del Río, eleven vueltabajeros lost 1-2 to Matanzas, a team that started its adventure in the first home match of 2023 on an excellent basis.
