West Bank strike after Israeli massacre that killed 11 Palestinians in Nablus

RAMALLAH, 23 February. The Palestinian population went on strike after the Nablus massacre and recalled that 63 Palestinians were killed by Zionist forces in 2023, the highest number in this century for this period.

Shops, banks, schools and universities closed their doors at the call of many Palestinian factions, Telesur points out. Palestinian institutions and services went on strike this Thursday in the occupied West Bank after reports of an Israeli army massacre the day before in Nablus, during which 11 Palestinians were killed, the source confirms.

The number of Palestinians killed by Israel in Nablus has risen to 11. While this Thursday’s protest is aimed at condemning the events that took place yesterday in Nablus, when more than 100 were reported injured, Palestinians also condemn the crackdown on those in detention in Israel.

According to eyewitnesses, the busiest streets of the West Bank, in Ramallah and Nablus, remained almost empty that day, unlike the usual crowd. For its part, the Palestinian Authority called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to consider Tel Aviv’s war crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday that 11 Palestinians, including a child under the age of 16, were killed during Israeli occupation forces’ invasion of Nablus, a city in the northern West Bank.

During this year, 63 Palestinians were killed by Zionist forces, the highest number recorded in this century in this period, the source repeated.
