SANTO DOMINGO. With a focus on Ibero-America as an opportunity for the whole world, a day of reflection began this Saturday morning, at the XXVIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Ibero-American Conference, attended by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
At the Conference Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, where representatives of 22 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, Portugal and Andorra gathered, President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader led the portico of an important meeting
Among other concepts, he argued that if the nations of the Ibero-American scenario did not unite, “the opportunity to get some concrete benefit for our countries” would be lost.

food safety; new financial architecture; a digital transformation of our America that makes effective use of technology; encourage cooperation; justice for everyone and everyone; reinforce coincidences, not disagreements. The presenter spoke about such regions, who spoke about unity as a big challenge.
For his part, the Ibero-American Secretary General Andrés Allamand Zabala spoke about the work done in the most recent phase; and he referred to Ibero-America as an area from which answers emerge to solve global problems and where dialogue and cooperation are possible.
Culture as a global public good; mobility of knowledge and talents; fighting to close social and digital divides; initiatives against violence and women’s empowerment; environment protection; innovation. These were the work priorities mentioned by Andres Allamand.

“Ibero-America is of interest to the rest of the world,” the leader said, emphasizing the importance that the 22 nations, united by a common heritage, decide to join forces for the benefit of their peoples and that the voice of the region be heard at the international level. “Together we do better,” he said.
Fight for peace; a just and stable Ibero-America marked by unity; be creative and offer innovative management models; greater access to credit opportunities; care and saving the environment. Such goals marked the first moments of this Saturday of reflection and commitment, when it was once again remembered that only unity is the path to any regional achievements.
