In a statement, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, Thor Vennesland, said he was horrified by the clashes that took place outside the temple and expressed concern about “the apparent beating of Palestinians by security forces.” a large number of arrests,” Telesur said.

The UN spokesman also rejected the “stockpiling and use of fireworks and stones by the Palestinians” in response to the violent invasion, putting attackers and victims on the same level, and called on the parties to “reject incitement, inflammatory rhetoric and provocative actions”, as well as maintaining the status quo of holy places in Jerusalem, which have been visited by about 600,000 people since the beginning of Ramadan.

For his part, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheith strongly condemned the raid, the attack on worshipers and the arrests. He stressed that such actions “affect the religious feelings of millions of Muslims around the world, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.”

He also demanded that the Israeli government respect the Muslim holy holiday, announced an emergency meeting on Wednesday over the incident, and demanded that the Security Council pressure Israel to stop the violence.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Jerusalem condemned that Israeli police prevented doctors from entering to treat the wounded. Video on social media shows soldiers destroying a medical center in the mosque complex.

The security forces evicted women and children from the mosque, and then a confrontation began with men who, according to police sources cited by Israeli media, confronted the agents with sticks, stones and fireworks.

According to Palestinian media reports, Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudayneh warned Israeli forces “not to cross red lines” at holy sites, assuring them that they would be held accountable for the damage and warning that the escalation of violence “would have dangerous consequences for all.”

After this event, Palestinian militias fired a dozen shells at Israel from the Gaza Strip, and in retaliation, Tel Aviv attacked two Hamas headquarters in the enclave with its aircraft. The Israeli raid and beating was also rejected by the governments of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Yemen and Turkey, among others.
