Cuba is preparing to host the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam (ANV), Vuong Dinh Hue, who is starting an official visit to the island tomorrow, at the head of a delegation from his country that will be the first foreigner in the capital. after the constitution of the X Legislative Assembly of the Cuban Parliament.

This trip will be the fourth for the ANV President to Cuba in the 21st century, following Nguyen Van An in 2006, Nguyen Phu Trong (current general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam) in 2010 and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in 2016.

Dinh Hue took office in 2021 as President of ANV (for a fifteenth term in the period 2021-2026), and under his leadership, the Vietnamese legislature made important decisions, including a historic one, that contributed to the successful prevention of COVID-19 and contributed to recovery and socio-economic development after the pandemic.

Vietnam is currently the main Asian investor in Cuba, supporting the island in the implementation of projects in the field of agriculture and aquaculture, there are bilateral agreements on cooperation in the field of biotechnology.

During a virtual exchange of views between the Presidents of the Parliaments of both countries in March 2022, Dinh Hue told his Cuban counterpart Esteban Laso that the special fraternal friendship and solidarity between the two countries is a valuable asset that both sides, states and peoples need to preserve, cultivate, develop and pass on to future generations.
