Cuban justice minister highlights Vietnam’s technological leap

HANOI, 15 June. – Cuban Justice Minister Oscar Silvera today praised Vietnam’s progress in applying high technology in this area while visiting the headquarters of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) in the capital.

Silvera was particularly appreciative of the use since 2021 of the virtual assistant, which he considers to be an exceptional work tool due to the vast amount of legal information that can be processed.

In the future, this remarkable technological innovation will greatly help citizens and institutions to know the scope of their rights and guarantees, he predicts, after listening to a detailed explanation from the specialists of the Merchant Operations and Supervision Center.

Silvera and her companions were received by Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Van Du, who highly appreciated the fraternal and comradely relations that exist between the Ministries of Justice of Cuba and Vietnam.

For his part, the Cuban minister stressed the close ties of friendship and cooperation between the Supreme Courts of both countries and recalled the visit that was here earlier in 2019.

On the first day of work in Hanoi, Silvera and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy call to the National Assembly (Parliament), where they were visited by Vice President Nguyen Khac Dinh, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The high-ranking parliamentary leader emphasized that in the history of the modern world there are rarely such special relations as the relations between the two parties, states and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba, which were cultivated by their historical leaders Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh.

Hac Dinh expressed his desire to see cooperation between the two justice ministries as an example for other portfolios and industries, and reaffirmed Vietnam’s willingness to share its experience with Cuba in improving institutions and laws in the service of the country’s development.

Silvera thanked for the attention and hospitality shown to his delegation and said that his compatriots value the Vietnamese as family brothers and always admire their resilience and indomitable character during the national liberation war.

The delegation of the Ministry of Justice of Cuba also held a working meeting this Thursday with the directors and professors of the Judicial Academy, and also visited the Supreme People’s Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the program of the visit, tomorrow Silvera will hold official talks with her colleague Le Thang Long, will be received by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin and, among other things, will visit Hanoi Law University.
