The 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador will feature 504 Cuban athletes, the official number of the delegation that was made public on Tuesday following the official registration of our representatives at the nearby multisport fair.
The group of participants from Mayor de las Antillas, divided into 268 women and 236 men, will take part in 365 of the 456 tests provided for this event, which will officially begin on June 23 at the Jorge “Magico” Gonzalez stadium, but will be held from June 21 table tennis and beach volleyball classes, and boxing will start on the 22nd.
Two multiple Olympic and world champions, judoka Idalis Ortiz and boxer Julio Cesar La Cruz, will be flag bearers for the island, which Inder estimates will aim for 70 to 80 gold medals.
