On the morning of Monday, March 27, a 28-year-old transgender woman, later identified by police as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, entered the Covenant Church School building armed with two machine guns and a 9mm pistol, killing six people.

The assailant, who was killed by the police, visited this educational center many years ago.

The victims, three minors and three adults, were identified as Evelyn Dickhouse, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all nine years old, and Cynthia Peake, 61, Katherine Koons, 60, and Mike Hill, also 61.

Residents of the community, still shaken by what is happening, gathered near the educational center to pay their respects to the victims of the unfortunate incident, local media reported.
