American actress Jennifer Aniston said that “there is a whole generation of people” who find the series “Friends” offensive, published today by People magazine.
Today’s look at Friends while promoting his new movie. Murder Mystery 2Aniston admitted to the press that things that might have seemed funny during that show in the late 1990s and early 2000s may not look so funny these days.
The actress understood that a television series like Friends, which was a huge success in the 1990s and launched the careers of Aniston and other actors, would not be possible today in the same scenario.
“I don’t think so,” he answered without hesitation. “Now a whole new generation of kids are watching the episodes Friends and they find it offensive.”– he said, hinting at the political correctness of speech. “I don’t know, everyone finds something offensive,” the actress complained.
“Comedy has evolved, cinema has evolved. Now it’s a little difficult because you have to be very careful, which makes life very difficult for comedians, ”said the actress.
She added that “there were things that were never intentional and others… well, we should have thought about it, but I don’t think there’s a sensitivity like there is now,” the 54-year-old actress said.
Recent public complaints about Friends include jokes about being overweight or transgender people, and even an all-white, heterosexual cast. Last year, its creator Martha Kaufman said she was ashamed that she “wasn’t more sensible 25 years ago” about the show’s lack of variety.
